The SEA 🌊

Build a SaaS company they said, high margin, easy to run.

Well, this startup did just that.

I’m talking about The Commerce Co.

🤷‍♂️ Who is The Commerce Co?

  • Founded in 2022 by Cameron Priest, the Commerce Co is a Singapore-based e-commerce SaaS startup that builds, acquires and develops tools that help merchants with their day-to-day operations

  • Cameron built and led TradeGecko as its CEO (an inventory and order management platform for e-commerce brands)

  • Patrick Barnes who was the first VP of sales at TradeGecko later joined the startup as director and co-founder

  • The platform has over 10,000 users with many well-known clients, including Goodwill Wine, Porvata, Packstore and Everyhuman

🛒 How it works?

  • The Commerce Co currently has 2 product offerings: Addition and Slide Chart

  • Addition - A shipping app that helps Shopify merchants get live shipping rates and fulfil orders through Australia Post

  • It lets merchants streamline the entire process like printing shipping labels, creating order manifests, payments and order fulfilment

  • Slide Chart - Allows merchants to upsell and cross-sell products, offer rewards and coupons and make announcements to grab customers’ attention

💰 Funding

  • The startup just raised USD 10 million in a Series A funding round from VC firms Openspace Ventures and Jungle Ventures.

  • This fundraising round comes as e-commerce startup investments hit a two-year low in Q1 2023
